Progetto:

Forecasting activities have been experienced a significant change in the last years because difficulties in prediction are increasing caused by complex environments and high variability of markets. The aim of this project is to analyze actual research trends in retailing multi-factor forecasting and to provide an explorative analysis of the retail industry. Nonlinear methods will be tested as tools to support management decision-making in the retail sector.
The scientific background of this paper is based on the systems theories, which allow studying the managerial implications of nonlinear correlations between retailer sales and internal and external environmental drivers. The systems perspective is used to interpret the managerial implications of the nonlinear analysis fits, particularly in cases where retail decision-makers are adapting, transforming and restructuring sources of competitive advantage in complex environments.
